Cool weather is still with Marion County but too soon the hot weather that we are known for will be with us so enjoy the “winter/fall” while you can. At least we don’t have snow to contend with.
The first weekend of the Marion County USBC Bowling Association’s City Championship has been completed and the leaders are:
Handicap team – Dot Head Family with a 3520 followed by Entry 56 with a 3463 and then Entry 26 with a 3385.
Scratch team – Entry 55 with a 3259 followed by Brian Brazeau Pro Shop with a 3214 and then Entry 58 with a 3208.
Handicap doubles – Brian Brazeau/Mike Stiles with a 1428; Charles Burgio/Mike Blanton with a 1377 and Joe Fiasco/Lester Gallagher with a 1376
Scratch doubles – Brian Brazeau/Mike Stiles with a 1361; Cathy Brazeau/Larry Gross with a 1188
Handicap singles – Chuck Broome with a 758; Mike Stiles with a 748 and Hunter Spink with a 731
Scratch singles – Mike Stiles with a 689; Jay Bridges with a 670 and Brian Brazeau with a 626
Handicap All Events – Mike Stiles with a 2292; Ed Robinson with a 2117 and Laura Prevatte with a 2084

The BA City Championship Tournament will be completed on February 20, 2011, and the following weekend the Women’s City Championship Tournament will run for the next 2 weekends.
Unfortunately some misinformation was discriminated regarding who can and cannot bowl in the BA City Championship – all men and women who certify with the BA side (Ocala is a non-merged association) can participate in the BA City Championship Tournament. Apologies to the women who wished to participate and were misinformed – please try again next year and we look forward to you participating.
Congratulations to Vito Sisto on rolling his 5th certified 300 game (he also has 2 300 games rolled in a post bowl situation which are not honored by USBC) – could he set a record for the most 300 games rolled by a youth bowler? Time will tell.
